Seven Arts Tells 9th Circ. Paramount Claims Not Time-Barred

Law360, Los Angeles (August 29, 2013, 9:04 PM EDT) -- Seven Arts Film Entertainment Ltd. urged the Ninth Circuit on Thursday to revive its copyright suit alleging Paramount Pictures Corp. ripped off five of its films, saying a trial judge incorrectly found its claims were time-barred under an exception to the continuing infringement doctrine.

Seven Arts' attorney Neil Netanel warned a three-member appellate panel that it would “time-bar authors from enforcing their copyrights to an unprecedented extent” if it affirmed U.S. District Judge Audrey B. Collins, who granted Paramount's motion to dismiss the case in October...
