NJ Court Backs $2M Award For Hoboken Condo Association

Law360, New York (August 27, 2013, 4:04 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey appeals court on Tuesday upheld a $2 million award granted to a Hoboken condominium association that sued its building developer and others over alleged construction defects, saying the arbitrator who issued the award followed national arbitration standards.

The developer, Observer Highway Plaza LLC, charged that the arbitrator exceeded her powers by modifying a portion of the award without consulting the company and deciding extraneous issues, among other charges.
