Facebook Joins Google, Others In Detailing Data Requests

Law360, New York (August 27, 2013, 9:02 PM EDT) -- Facebook Inc. revealed Tuesday that it had complied with more than three-quarters of the nearly 12,000 requests for user data that it received from the U.S. government during the first half of 2013, becoming the latest company to publish statistics on how it responds to requests for information from governments around the world.

The company's first-ever global government requests report showed that more than 70 countries had made over 25,000 requests for information from Facebook about its users between Jan. 1 and June 30.
