Bakery Giant Bimbo Hit With Wage Class Action

Law360, New York (August 29, 2013, 6:44 PM EDT) -- Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc. was hit with a putative class action in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday by employees alleging the company underpaid them and denied meal breaks. 

Worker Luis E. Gaytan accused Bimbo of breaching California labor laws by rounding down wages, not compensating employees for mandatory tasks, denying meal and rest periods, and not compensating employees for gas mileage.

Bimbo Bakeries declined to comment on the case on Thursday. Counsel for Gaytan wasn't immediately available for comment Thursday.
