Bankrupt K-V To Pay $24M To Settle FCA Suit

Law360, New York (August 28, 2013, 10:00 PM EDT) -- A New York federal bankruptcy judge Wednesday approved a settlement in which K-V Discovery Solutions Inc. will pay roughly $23.8 million to settle a False Claims Act suit and pay for accompanying fines, shortly after K-V received the go-ahead for its Chapter 11 restructuring plan.

Under the terms of the settlement, the women’s health care company will pay $11 million to the federal government and $7.4 million to Medicaid-participating states, court filings said. K-V will also pay the federal government $5.4 million to resolve criminal fines....
