Nintendo Denies Wii Balance Board Infringes Motion Patent

Law360, Los Angeles (August 30, 2013, 4:09 PM EDT) -- Nintendo of America Inc. asked a Delaware federal judge Thursday to declare as invalid a patent covering the detection of a video game user's movements, which Slovak Republic company Ithaca Ventures k.s. claims the gaming giant is infringing.

Nintendo denied that its Wii balance board, developed after the company was allegedly approached by Ithaca to license its patent, infringed Ithaca's patent.
