National Review Can't Shake Scientist's Defamation Suit

Law360, New York (September 3, 2013, 5:37 PM EDT) -- Climate scientist Michael E. Mann's defamation lawsuit against the National Review will continue after a Washington judge refused Friday to reconsider her July denial of the conservative magazine's motion to dismiss Mann's case.

The Pennsylvania State University professor brought the suit after the National Review and libertarian think tank Competitive Enterprise Institute ran articles in 2012 allegedly calling Mann a fraud and comparing his handling of climate change data to convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky's treatment of his victims.
