Alliance Healthcare Settles Workers' Wage Class Action

Law360, New York (September 3, 2013, 1:22 PM EDT) -- Alliance Healthcare Services Inc. will pay up to $200,000 to settle allegations that it didn't give proper meal and rest breaks to California-based hourly medical imaging technicians, according to a settlement filed in California federal court Friday.

The $200,000 settlement includes up to $5,000 enhancement for the class representative and up to $55,000 in attorneys' fees and costs. It ends the wage-and-hour litigation that began in 2009 over allegations Alliance Healthcare made it impossible for the technicians to take mandatory meal and rest breaks.
