Nintendo, Samsung Targeted In ITC Suit Over Disc Drive IP

Law360, New York (September 4, 2013, 2:46 PM EDT) -- Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Nintendo Co. Ltd. were among 14 manufacturers accused of importing electronics that infringed several patents for the technology behind optical disc drives in a suit filed Tuesday with the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Optical Devices LLC asked the ITC to launch an investigation into its allegations that computers, DVD and compact disc players, as well as other devices manufactured and imported by the respondents infringe six of its patents, violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act.
