FCC Expected To Approve DirecTV Deal Soon: Report

Law360, New York (February 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Federal Communications Commission reportedly will vote later this month on a proposed deal in which News Corp. would sell its stake in the satellite television service DirecTV to Liberty Media Corp.

At a press conference last week, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin said he had recommended to the other four commissioners that they approve the deal, the Wall Street Journal reported. The vote is expected to take place at the FCC's open meeting in Boston on Feb. 26.
