Bankrupt AMR Says It Doesn't Owe Dewey $4.6M In Fees

Law360, Los Angeles (September 5, 2013, 9:11 PM EDT) -- AMR Corp. on Thursday asked a New York bankruptcy judge to deduct $644,000 from the $4.6 million it owes Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP for fees and expenses stemming from various lawsuits, saying the firm wrongly used first-year associates for some of the billed work.

Dewey — which was special counsel to the debtors and itself declared bankruptcy last year — broke an agreement between the parties when it billed AMR for work performed by the five associates in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy litigation, according to the Thursday...
