AvMed, Customers Reach Settlement In Data Theft Suit

Law360, New York (September 6, 2013, 7:53 PM EDT) -- Health care company  AvMed Inc. has agreed to settle a putative class action in Florida federal court accusing it of maintaining shoddy data security safeguards that led to the 2009 theft of laptop computers containing the personal information of 1.2 million customers, the parties announced Tuesday.
