Law360, New York (September 9, 2013, 7:11 PM EDT) -- Scripps Networks Interactive Inc., the operator of The Food Network, on Sunday blasted a bid to block the premiere of new reality series "Food Fanatics" over trademark infringement allegations, calling the request a "prior restraint on free speech."
Scripps criticized food distribution giant US Foods Inc. on Sunday for seeking to halt the series "Food Fanatics with Eden Grinsphan" just days before the scheduled premiere after waiting "for over a month" to do so, saying granting such a request would cost it hundreds of thousands of dollars and violate its First Amendment rights.
