Apple, Samsung Drop More Patents Ahead Of 2nd Trial

Law360, New York (September 9, 2013, 5:07 PM EDT) -- Following a California federal judge's order, Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. each agreed Friday to drop an additional patent from the list of those they plan to assert against each other at a second trial set to begin in March.

Apple and Samsung have for several months been abiding by U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh's instructions to narrow the scope of the case. With Friday's agreement in place, both sides have finalized the five patents they will be asserting against each other at trial.
