Disney's Marvel Settles 'Ghost Rider' Copyright Case

Law360, New York (September 9, 2013, 2:29 PM EDT) -- The Walt Disney Co.'s Marvel Entertainment has settled a long-running lawsuit filed by the creator of the character “Ghost Rider” over control of the rights to popular comic book anti-hero, according to a letter filed in New York federal court on Friday.

Attorneys for Gary Friedrich, who co-created the supernatural motorcyclist and sued Marvel in 2007 for control of the copyrights, asked the court to stay all deadlines because all claims had been amicably resolved. The filing said that a formal agreement hadn't yet been executed....
