AEG Loses Midtrial Bid To Dodge Michael Jackson Liability

Law360, Los Angeles (September 9, 2013, 6:15 PM EDT) -- AEG Live LLC on Monday lost a midtrial bid to escape liability for the death of Michael Jackson when a California judge ruled a jury could find the concert promoter knew or should have known Dr. Conrad Murray presented an “undue risk of harm” to the singer.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Yvette M. Palazuelos rejected AEG's arguments that she would be unduly expanding tort law if she allowed the Jackson family's claims that it negligently hired and supervised Murray to proceed to a jury verdict....
