Deadline Set To Speed Up Blackwater Manslaughter Case

Law360, New York (September 10, 2013, 4:55 PM EDT) -- A Washington federal judge on Tuesday gave prosecutors until next month to file a new indictment against four former Blackwater Worldwide security contractors, in an effort to push forward a case stemming from a 2007 shooting incident that killed 14 Iraqis.

Prosecutors have until Oct. 21 to lodge fresh charges against Paul Slough, Evan Liberty, Dustin Heard and Donald Ball, according to Tuesday's order. The case was revived more than two years ago by the D.C. Circuit after it was dismissed by a lower court, but...
