BP Wants $25M Cut From Deepwater Claims Program Budget

Law360, New York (September 12, 2013, 3:08 PM EDT) -- BP PLC asked a Louisiana federal judge on Wednesday to slash $25.5 million from the proposed fourth quarter budget for the Deepwater Horizon settlement program that handles private economic and medical claims, arguing that the administrator's request includes excessive and unreasonable costs.

The claims administrator's office has never managed expenses of the Court Supervised Settlement Program's vendors and failed to take action when they fell short of their own inflated budgets, BP said in an objection to the claims administrator's proposed fourth quarter budget.
