JPMorgan, Others Dodge Madoff Suits In 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (September 16, 2013, 7:22 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit on Monday tossed a pair of class action suits by European investors alleging JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of New York Mellon Corp. and other banks aided the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme, ruling the claims did not belong in New York federal court.

The Second Circuit dismissed claims against JPMorgan, BNY Mellon, UniCredit SpA, HSBC Holdings PLC and units of audit firms PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young, among other defendants that allegedly missed red flags regarding the now-imprisoned con man. The plaintiffs, European...
