CORRECTED: Energy Plus Deceptive Ads Class Deal Gets Final OK

Law360, Los Angeles (September 17, 2013, 6:27 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday granted final approval to a settlement worth up to $14.3 million for a class of Energy Plus Holdings LLC customers that had accused the power provider of luring them into contracts with false promises.

U.S. District Judge William H. Pauley approved the deal, overruling concerns raised by several states attorneys general who, in a July amicus brief, protested that the class wouldn't be compensated enough after attorneys' fees were taken into account.
