Fla. Tribe Can't Join Fight Over Gray-Market Slot Ban

Law360, Miami (September 25, 2013, 6:10 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Monday denied the Seminole Tribe of Florida's bid to intervene in an Internet cafe's suit challenging the constitutionality of a state law banning gray-market slot machines.

U.S. District Judge Ursula Ungaro rejected the tribe's arguments that it had a right to substantial gaming exclusivity under a deal with the state, denying its motion to intervene against plaintiff Incredible Investments LLC, which operates an Internet cafe in Homestead that offered sweepstakes to promote its business.
