Madoff's Personal Accountant Arrested Over Role In Fraud

Law360, New York (September 26, 2013, 4:50 PM EDT) -- The FBI said Thursday that Bernard Madoff's former personal accountant has been arrested in connection with the convicted hedge-fund investor’s massive Ponzi scheme, almost five years after Madoff pled guilty to charges that he bilked clients out of nearly $65 billion.

Paul Konigsberg, 77, is being brought up on charges, which include fraudulent record-keeping, related to Madoff’s historic securities scheme, according to an FBI spokeswoman. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Schwartz said Konigsberg was arrested at his lawyer's office Thursday at 7 a.m.
