Nobel Fights $4M Attys' Fee Bid In Dental Implant Suit

Law360, New York (September 26, 2013, 3:37 PM EDT) -- A $4.3 million attorneys' fee request tacked on to a settlement to resolve a $450 million class action lawsuit accusing Nobel Biocare Holding AG of marketing defective dental implants is “embarrassingly high” and should be rejected, Nobel told a federal judge Wednesday.

Nobel, which in April agreed to pay $1.3 million to settle the suit brought by a class of more than 2,900 dentists over bone and gum problems allegedly caused by its dental implants, lambasted class counsel for requesting “astronomically high” fees in a straightforward case,...
