Black May Face Racketeering Charges In Hollinger Case

Law360, New York (December 13, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Lord Conrad Black may soon add racketeering charges to the growing mass of litigation filed against him, as U.S. prosecutors are looking into bringing charges against the former media baron under statutes that are usually used to prosecute organized crime.

Canada’s National Post reported that “sources familiar with the proceedings say the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois sought a grand jury indictment against Lord Black, and possibly others, under the U.S. Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).”
