Despite Progress, US-India Investment Deal Still Far Off

Law360, New York (October 1, 2013, 10:12 PM EDT) -- Increasing economic cooperation between the U.S. and India was a focus of last week's meeting between the countries' leaders, but experts say that Indian regulations, such as those requiring insurers and other businesses to have majority Indian ownership, along with lagging intellectual property protections, remain obstacles to a formal investment agreement.
