Calif. Gov. Signs Bill Giving Domestic Workers OT Pay

Law360, San Diego (September 27, 2013, 6:29 PM EDT) -- California Gov. Jerry Brown on Thursday signed into law a measure that will let housekeepers, nannies, caregivers and other domestic workers in private homes collect overtime pay.

A.B. 241, which was proposed by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, will guarantee overtime pay for domestic employees who work more than nine hours a day or more than 45 hours a week.
