Symantec Again Aims To Get Data Breach Suit Junked

Law360, New York (October 1, 2013, 6:06 PM EDT) -- Symantec Corp. asked a California federal judge Tuesday to toss a user's amended proposed class action accusing the software company of concealing a data breach by hackers who stole source code, calling the user's claims vague and deliberately obtuse.

The action, originally filed by Kathleen Haskins in April, claims that consumers did not receive the advertised anti-virus protection they paid for because the source code was hacked, which left them vulnerable to cyberattacks.
