Best Buy Says HannStar Can't Vacate $7.5M LCD Verdict

Law360, New York (October 2, 2013, 4:04 PM EDT) -- Best Buy Co. argued Tuesday that its $229 million in liquid crystal display price-fixing settlements shouldn't allow HannStar Display Corp. to vacate the retailer's $7.5 million jury verdict or to avoid paying Best Buy nearly $18 million in attorneys' fees and costs for their work in the multidistrict litigation.

Shortly after a jury awarded Best Buy damages from HannStar at trial in September, HannStar moved to vacate the judgment, claiming Best Buy's settlements with other defendants in the case completely offset the award.
