ExxonMobil Says New Fox Channel's Logo Violates Trademark

Law360, New York (October 2, 2013, 6:11 PM EDT) -- ExxonMobil Corp. accused FX Networks LLC and Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. of ripping off the signature design of two interlocking X's from its emblem and using it in the logo for the new comedy network FXX, according to a suit filed in Texas federal court Wednesday.

ExxonMobil said Fox's use of its famous overlapping double-X design in the cable channel’s logo would tarnish the public's association of the mark with the world's largest publicly traded oil company and that TV watchers already have made a number of comments online that the logo appeared to have taken a cue from Exxon's....
