Court Exempts Bargaining Strategy From Discovery

Law360, New York (February 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal district court has held that federal civil procedure rules prohibit employers from subpoenaing internal collective bargaining information from a union.

Judge Aleta A. Trauger of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee ruled earlier this month that Caterpillar Inc. was not entitled to internal documents from the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultral Implement Workers of America.
