With Assurant's Fla. Deal, Force-Placed Reforms Gain Steam

Law360, New York (October 8, 2013, 9:04 PM EDT) -- A unit of Assurant Inc., the country's largest force-placed insurance provider, has agreed to reduce rates, stop paying commissions to mortgage servicers and change other practices as part of an agreement with Florida regulators, signaling the reforms introduced by New York are slowly but surely catching on.
