Union Drops Bid To Intervene In Suit Over $14B Airline Merger

Law360, New York (October 9, 2013, 3:41 PM EDT) -- After the U.S. Department of Justice, American Airlines Inc. and US Airways Group Inc. — in a rare showing of unanimity — urged a District of Columbia federal court to keep an airline workers' union out of the DOJ's suit to block the carriers' $14 billion merger, the union withdrew its bid to intervene in the case Wednesday.
