High Court Won't Block Employer-Funded Health Care

Law360, New York (February 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- San Francisco's controversial program requiring employers to spend specific amounts on employees' health care is set to remain in place for the moment, after the U.S. Supreme Court denied a bid by a group representing restaurant operators to temporarily block the ordinance while an appeal of the case is pending.

In a ruling handed down Thursday, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy denied the Golden Gate Restaurant Association's petition, filed earlier this month.
