Md. Military Equipment Manufacturer Files For Ch. 11

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 2:09 PM EDT) -- Military supplier Automated Business Power Inc., which makes portable battlefield communication and power systems, filed for bankruptcy protection Tuesday in Maryland, saying it has nearly $50 million in debts it can't pay.

The Gaithersburg, Md.-based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection listing assets of between $50 million and $100 million and liabilities of between $10 million and $50 million to its fewer than 50 creditors, according to its petition, which was signed by its president, Daniel Akman.
