Whole Foods Inks Major Newark Lease

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 3:07 PM EDT) -- Whole Foods Market Inc. announced Thursday that it has signed a 29,000-square-foot lease in Newark, N.J., bringing to an end years of negotiations spearheaded by Mayor Cory Booker, who began courting the natural and organic food store shortly after becoming mayor in 2006.

Whole Foods will take space at the Hahne & Co. building at 609 Broad St., a historic building that is undergoing renovations to become a large mixed-use project with residential, commercial and community components.
