De Blasio To Intervene In LICH Litigation

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 5:11 PM EDT) -- A Brooklyn judge granted New York City public advocate and mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio permission Tuesday to intervene in a dispute over who is ultimately responsible for the operation of the struggling Long Island College Hospital.

In September, another judge in a related case invalidated the State University of New York – Downstate's controversial plan to close LICH and contract with a new operator for a smaller facility, but the question of whether SUNY or Continuum Health Partners Inc. is responsible for operating the hospital remains open....
