Priest Says DOD Furlough Violates 1st Amendment

Law360, New York (October 15, 2013, 3:58 PM EDT) -- A Catholic priest who contracted to celebrate Mass on a U.S. Navy base in Georgia sued the U.S. Department of Defense on Monday, saying that furloughing him in the wake of the government shutdown and blocking him from the base's chapel violated his First Amendment rights.
