Smithfield Foods Faces Another FLSA Class Action

Law360, New York (February 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Leading pork processor Smithfield Foods Inc. has been hit with another proposed class action alleging the company does not properly compensate line workers at one of its production facilities.

Plaintiffs Jerome McNeil of Little Rock, S.C., and Sidney L. Townsend of Latta, S.C., brought the Fair Labor Standards Act suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina on behalf of all current and former production employees at the company's Tar Heel, N.C., facility.
