Apple, Others Take Aim At Ameranth Patents In AIA Review
Law360, New York (October 16, 2013, 5:33 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc., Expedia Inc., Domino's Pizza Inc. and a host of other companies sued by Ameranth Inc. over online ordering patents joined forces Tuesday to have the patents declared invalid for claiming an abstract idea, under the America Invents Act's business method review program.
Nearly three dozen companies jointly filed petitions asking the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to review four patents that Ameranth has asserted in a slew of suits against hotel chains, travel websites, online ticketing companies and other companies that offer online ordering.
