Cast Iron Soil Pipe Cos. Fixed Prices, Class Suit Says

Law360, Los Angeles (October 16, 2013, 4:25 PM EDT) -- A plumbing fixtures company filed an antitrust class action in California federal court Tuesday accusing AB&I Foundry and others of conspiring to fix prices in the cast iron soil pipe and fittings market, forcing buyers to pay artificially inflated prices for the products.

Las Vegas Supply Inc.'s suit says the market's top sellers set price levels and agreed not to compete with one another, causing prices to steadily rise over the past seven years, despite a decrease in construction and demand for the products.
