Caesars Under Scrutiny Over Money Laundering Compliance

Law360, New York (October 21, 2013, 7:05 PM EDT) -- The Caesars Entertainment Corp. unit that owns Caesar's Palace is facing investigations by both a federal grand jury and the U.S. Department of the Treasury's financial crimes unit for potential violations of anti-money laundering policies, the company said Monday.

Caesars said in a filing with the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission that its Desert Palace Inc. unit is being investigated by Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network for alleged violations of the Bank Secrecy Act, which requires companies to report suspicious activity that might signify money laundering, tax...
