Jimi Hendrix Estate Can't Scuttle Producer's Contract Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (October 21, 2013, 3:59 PM EDT) -- Jimi Hendrix's estate can't escape a film producer's claims that it breached a distribution agreement for a Hendrix concert film and soundtrack, a California judge ruled Monday, finding the claims hadn't arisen out of conduct protected by the First Amendment.

Gerald Goldstein brought counterclaims against the estate in July, after negotiations broke down in their fight over the terms of the deal.
