BP Gulf Spill Settlement Payment Freeze Extended

Law360, New York (October 22, 2013, 6:50 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana federal judge overseeing the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation extended a payment freeze on Friday for some economic loss claims stemming from BP PLC's estimated $7.8 billion oil spill settlement but rejected new criteria proposed by the oil giant.

U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier issued a temporary injunction ordering claims administrator Patrick Juneau to continue the temporary suspension of business economic loss payments unless Juneau determines that the matching of revenues and expenses are not an issue.
