FTC Clears Monsanto's $930M Deal For Analytics Firm

Law360, New York (October 22, 2013, 2:41 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Monday greenlighted chemical and St. Louis-based agricultural biotechnology giant Monsanto Co.’s $930 million bid for a San Francisco-based venture-backed analytics and risk management firm whose agriculture-focused data will provide farmers with scientific insight on factors that influence crop quality and yields.

The purchase of closely held The Climate Corp. was cleared by the antitrust regulator, which granted early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act waiting period for the deal, announced less than three weeks ago.
