Texas Expands Suit Vs. Sony BMG

Law360, New York (December 22, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has expanded his lawsuit against Sony BMG Music Entertainment in the wake of a spyware scandal surrounding the music publisher’s failed anti-piracy technology on music CDs.

On Wednesday, Abbott said he had amended the complaint to include allegations that a second form of anti-piracy technology used by Sony BMG violate the state's new anti-spyware and deceptive trade practices laws.
