Dubai Developer Unveils $3B Mixed-Use Kurdish Project

Law360, New York (October 28, 2013, 6:10 PM EDT) -- A unit of Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC and Kurdish officials on Sunday launched a $3 billion mixed-use project in the Kurdistan region of Iraq that will include hotels, entertainment venues, apartments, retail and more, according to an announcement.

The project, dubbed Downtown Erbil, calls for a pair of high-rise, 27-story towers surrounded by a complex of midrise towers. It will be the largest project to be developed in the Erbil, Kurdistan region, Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani said in a translated statement.
