Defense Contractors Pay $1M To Settle WARN Act Suit

Law360, New York (October 28, 2013, 7:03 PM EDT) -- Defense contractors DSE Inc. and Amtec Defense Corp. will pay $1 million to a group of fired workers to end a class action alleging they were not properly notified of their impending termination, according to court documents filed Friday in Florida federal court.

DSE and Amtec agreed to end the suit alleging the contractors did not give former workers at their Florida and South Carolina facilities 60 days' notice of their termination as required by the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the plaintiffs said in...
