SCA Can Attack $7.5M Award To Armstrong, Arbitrators Rule

Law360, Houston (October 31, 2013, 8:40 PM EDT) -- Lance Armstrong will have to defend a $7.5 million award he scored against SCA Promotions Inc. in a dispute over prize Monday the insurer promised the cyclist for his 2004 Tour de France win, a Texas arbitration panel said Tuesday.

The arbitration panel said it would hear SCA’s case for reversing the judgment in light of Armstrong’s admission that he cheated during much of his career and the International Cycling Union’s decision last year to strip him of all his titles.
