Black Asks Court To Delay Imprisonment For Fraud

Law360 (February 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appellate court will likely decide on Friday if Lord Conrad Black can delay trading in his extravagant lifestyle for prison garb.

A judge in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois sentenced the former media baron to six and a half years behind bars in December, following a jury's finding of guilt on three counts of fraud and one count of obstruction of justice.

Black was cleared of nine other counts against him, including racketeering, criminal fraud, money laundering and tax evasion....
