Blank Rome, DLA Fees Face Probe In Pa. Lottery Privatization

Law360, Philadelphia (November 1, 2013, 5:46 PM EDT) -- Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale on Thursday bashed Gov. Tom Corbett’s announcement that he’d reached a deal extending a pending bid with a private manager for the state lottery, saying his office would scrutinize nearly $3.4 million in payments made to consultants, including DLA Piper LLP and Blank Rome LLP.

DePasquale, a Democrat elected to the position last November, said he had ordered an inquiry into money taken out of the state’s lottery fund, which is earmarked almost exclusively to pay for programs for senior citizens,...
